The ultimate hospo solution
Reorder decisions often come down to walking the store, checking the shelves, and placing orders based on manual input. That causes two problems: order too much and stock spoils; order too little and you run short mid-service.
Nomni Procure gives you a more precise method. You set a PAR level for each item, and the system calculates the quantity needed to bring stock back up to that level. Connect Nomni POS and your PAR levels can be driven by what you actually sell, so ordering reflects real demand instead of an estimate.
Here is how to set PAR levels and fill orders to PAR across your venues.
Two ways to set a PAR level
A PAR level is the minimum on-hand quantity you want to hold for an item. When stock drops below it, the item needs reordering, and the shortfall is the quantity to order. Nomni Procure gives you two ways to set that number.
Approach | How the PAR is set | Best for |
Sales-driven | Based on historic trends | Fast-moving items where demand shifts week to week |
Fixed | A configured number you set manually | Staples, slow movers, or items with a hard storage limit |
Both are valid. Use the one that fits the item. A high-turnover item suits a PAR that tracks recent sales. A stable staple is easier to manage on a fixed number. You can set PARs in ordering units such as cartons, slabs or cases, so orders land in the format your supplier ships.
💡 Multi-venue note: Par levels are set per item per outlet, so a flagship site and a suburban site can carry different PARs for the same SKU without you managing two systems.
Step by step
1. Set a PAR level for each inventory item. Decide, item by item, whether the PAR follows the historic trend count or a fixed configured number, and set the ordering unit you want to reorder in. Fast movers usually suit sales-driven PARs. Staples usually suit fixed ones.
2. Connect Nomni POS so sales feed your stock levels. With the POS integration in place, sales data flows into Nomni Procure and keeps on-hand quantities current as you trade. A sales-driven PAR depends on this, and it connects what you sell to what you reorder. The integration involves hardware and software setup, so the Nomni onboarding team configures it rather than you switching it on yourself.
3. Fill orders to par when you order. In the app, open Orders and choose the outlet. Tap Items below par to see everything sitting under its minimum, then tap Fill all to par to auto-fill the shortfall quantities across the list, or adjust any item by hand. The same flow is available on Buyer Hub for desktop ordering.
Check stock on hand before you commit. Ordering by supplier instead? Tap View stock on hand to see the current on-hand quantity for each item, then Add to order and choose Fill to par on the quantity. Looking at your real on-hand levels first stops you reordering what you already have, which is where a lot of over-ordering starts. You can also tap Fill all to par from Edit order after reviewing.
4. Review and place. Tap Review, then Place order. Nothing sends until you approve it. The quantities are calculated for you, but the order goes out only when you confirm, so an unusual sales week does not become an unplanned delivery.
💡 Pro tip: Fill all to PAR first, then check the two or three items where you already know something is off, such as a promo coming up or a supplier delay. Adjust those by hand and place the order. You keep the speed and still check the exceptions.
Run this once a quarter
Check | What to look for |
Par review | Are fast movers still on sales-driven PARs, and do fixed PARs still match how you trade? |
Ordering units | Are PARs set in the units your suppliers ship, so orders round cleanly? |
Exceptions | Which items get manually overridden most often? Those PARs probably need resetting. |
Outlet drift | Do busy and quiet sites carry PARs that reflect their real demand? |
The bigger picture
Setting order quantities from sales and stock data makes procurement a controlled process rather than a reactive one. It saves ordering time, and it lets you decide how much stock you hold and how exposed you are to spoilage and stockouts. For operators managing margin closely, that control is the point.
