The ultimate hospo solution

Most venues lose loyalty at the counter, not in the app. A member is standing right there, paying, and the moment passes because looking them up means asking for a phone number, typing it in, and holding up the queue while three people wait behind them. So the staff skips it. The points never land, and the visit goes uncounted.

Customer QR codes close that gap. Your loyalty members show a scannable code on their phone, your staff scan it, and Nomni POS identifies the customer and applies loyalty in one motion. No phone number, no manual search, and it works regardless of how they pay.

For operators, this means the loyalty you already paid to build is actually used on every visit, without slowing service. Here is how to turn it on.

Before you start, you will need three things in place. Your POS terminal needs compatible scanner hardware, your POS needs to be integrated with Nomni Loyalty, and Nomni SSO authentication needs to be configured in Nomni Studio. If any of these is missing, the QR option will not appear or will not scan, so confirm them first.

Where the value comes from

Think of it as removing the three points where loyalty usually leaks at the counter:

The leak

What it costs you

What Customer QR fixes

Manual lookup is slow

Staff skip it at peak

One scan, no typing

Customer forgot to mention loyalty

Visit goes uncounted

Code is on their phone, ready

Loyalty tied to one payment method

Cash and card customers miss out

Works with any payment method

Turn it on: the steps

  1. Open Nomni Studio and select your site. Log in, then choose the venue you want to configure.

  2. Go to Loyalty App, Basic Setup. This is the default landing page when you open Loyalty App in the left sidebar.

  3. Switch on Customer QR Code Generation. Find the toggle and set it to ON. It is off by default, so every site has to be enabled deliberately.

  4. Give customers a way to reach their code. You have two options. Link a button or banner to the QR page by setting its Link Type dropdown to "Generate QR Code". Or use a Loyalty Sign In component, open Edit Settings, and switch on Enable QR Code, then pick a Card, Minimal or Banner variant. The QR icon then appears automatically once a customer is signed in.

  5. Test a scan before you launch. Have a signed-in member open their code and scan it at the POS. You should see the customer identified and loyalty applied automatically.

What the customer sees. When a signed-in member taps the access point, their QR page slides in showing their balance, membership number and a scannable code. The code is token-based and refreshes every hour for security, which means a screenshot will not work: the customer needs to open it live at the counter.

The bigger picture

Loyalty only earns its keep when it gets used, and usage is decided at the counter in the seconds around payment. Making identification a single scan rather than a conversation is the difference between a programme that quietly fills your customer data and one that staff abandon under pressure. The faster the moment, the more of your visits you actually capture.
