The ultimate hospo solution
Your Magic App puts ordering and loyalty in the customer's hands. Digital Wallet takes it one step further: it adds your venue's branded loyalty card directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so a customer's rewards balance, tier and scan-ready QR code are one swipe from the lock screen, sat right next to their bank cards.
That is the difference between loyalty that the customer has to actively seek out, and loyalty that is there every time they reach for their phone. The closer your program sits to the moment of payment, the more customers will use loyalty.
Nomni Digital Wallet closes that gap. Here is how to switch it on, and how your customers add it.
Loyalty they seek out vs loyalty that is already there
The mental model is simple: where does your loyalty program actually live in the customer's day?
Loyalty they actively open | Loyalty as a wallet pass | |
|---|---|---|
Where it lives | A page or app they navigate to | One swipe from the lock screen |
Effort to check a balance | Open, log in, and find it | A glance |
Presence between visits | Only when they think of it | Persistent, sat next to their bank cards |
Recognition at the counter | Only if they remember to pull it up | QR is ready to scan |
For operators, this means the easier you make recognition, the more of your transactions you can tie back to a known, returning customer instead of an anonymous one.
Part 1: Switch Digital Wallet on in Nomni Studio
Before you start, your venue needs Nomni Loyalty live, with your rewards currency set up (and your tiers, if you use them). The pass shows the customer's balance and tier, so loyalty has to be configured first.
Open Nomni Studio and select the venue you are configuring.
In the left sidebar, open Loyalty App.
Turn on Customer QR Code Generation. This is what powers the QR code on the pass, so it has to be on before anything else will work.
Open Show Advanced Settings and add your company ID, region and branch.
Turn on Enable Add to Wallet. This switches on the "Add to Apple Wallet" and "Add to Google Wallet" prompts for your customers.
💡 Pro tip: Have a test customer account ready on a phone so you can check the pass on both Apple and Google the moment you flip it on.
Once it is on, customers see the Add to Wallet prompt on your Magic App, and the pass generates with your branding and their current balance, loyalty tier and QR code. The next time they visit your venue and order at the POS, they can scan their QR code to avail loyalty benefits.
Part 2: How your diners add the card
There are two ways a customer ends up with your card in their wallet, and both finish at the same prompt.
From the Magic App. The customer scans your Magic App QR code, logs in, and is prompted to add their loyalty card to Apple or Google Wallet.
At the counter. The customer orders at the POS and scans their customer QR code, logs in, and gets the same prompt to add the card to their wallet.
Either way, the card lands next to their bank cards and transit passes, and they never have to dig through an app to earn or redeem again.
The bigger picture
A wallet pass turns loyalty from something customers have to remember into something that sits on their lock screen all day. That persistent presence is the whole point: the closer your program sits to the moment of payment, the more customers use your loyalty, and the more reasons they have to come back to you instead of the venue next door.
